On one of the most beautiful slopes of Mount Paiko, above the settlement Pentalofo and at an altitude of 700 m. you can see the monastery (Holy Commune) of St. Nicodemus the Hagiorite. The monastery is a dependency of the Monastery of Simonos Petras which was founded in 1981. The upper level is dedicated to Saint Nicodemus and the ground floor is dedicated to Saints Raphael, Nicholas and Irene. Here you can see the holy skull of Saint Nicodemus of the Holy Mountain, the patron of the monastery and a prolific church writer of the 18th and 19th century. Also, the Hagiography workshop of the Monastery is well known for its elegant and excellent quality production of handmade paintings.
